Prof. Taniguchi won the 9th Advanced Robotics Paper Awards of the Robotics Society of Japan. The report of the selection was published in the November 2021 issue of the Journal of the Robotics Society of Japan. The selection was based on the fact that the paper summarizes the current status and prospects of the latest research on language generation in robots from an interdisciplinary perspective, including developmental linguistics and category learning, which are often overlooked by the robotics field, and is a valuable survey for future researchers.
